Starting Adult Ballet at 27

I never grew up with a dream to dance. Although my parents were musicians and I dutifully practiced piano for 8 years at their insistence, I don’t have memories of dancing around the house or begging for lessons. So it was surprising when I was 25 and watching the Chicago Joffrey’s Nutcracker, a ballet I had seen dozens of times, when all of a sudden I was transfixed and had this aha moment. “This!
